Jorge Ivan Valiente

Born and Raised in sunny South Los Angeles, I was always intrigued with capturing lasting moments on camera. I graduated high school in 2011 and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where I earned my BA in Film & Media Studies & Latin American Studies. I then pursued my career in cinematography at the New York Film Academy where I received my Masters in Fine Arts in Cinematography. As a kid, I would play with my action figures and my LEGOS. My sister had the old school Logitech camera on the big desktop and I would find myself creating mini episodes with my action figures on that 8MP Camera we had back in 2005. Since then, I knew that I wanted to create stories with a camera.

I've been shooting portraits and capturing eternal memories since I was 19 years old. I started with a Rebel Canon T5i where I would shoot events for friends at UCSB. Everyone I went to school with called me by my last name Valiente which translates to Courageous in spanish. It was here where I would  utilize the power of my last name to instill courage and confidence in my subjects. I fell in love with the feeling I would get from making people feel good about themselves after they saw themselves in the images I captured.
